PA90 - Theatrical Arts I

Prerequisites: NONEMay be taken concurrently with PA89: Stagecraft.
Introductory course to the theatre. Through pantomime, improvisation and short scenes, students gain an understanding of how to create believable characters and expressive bodies in productions.

PA91 - Theatrical Arts II
1 Semester | .5 Credit
Prerequisites: PA90Through the study of scenes from plays, students are trained in all aspects of theatrical presentation. Participants act, direct, design sets, do make-up, design costumes and may present public performances.

PA86 - Intermediate Acting
1 or 2 Semesters | .5 or 1 Credit
Prerequisites: By Audition OnlyProvides an opportunity for all interested theatre students to advance their understanding of theatre and performance. Students will be introduced to more advanced acting techniques and styles and be allowed to further advance their directing and technical skills.

PA92 - Advanced Acting
1 or 2 Semesters | .5 or 1 Credit
Prerequisites: By Audition OnlyFor advanced acting students who are interested in learning the techniques of auditioning and analyzing characters in depth. Through improvisations and acting scenes, each student will learn how to create the role desired in a production. In addition, much time will be spent on what constitutes complete characterization. Rehearsals and performances after school hours may be required.

PA89 - Stagecraft

2 Sem. — 1 Fine Arts Elective Credit
Prerequisites: PA90 & Teacher ApprovalMay be taken concurrently with PA90: Theatrical Arts I.
Designed to introduce and acquaint students with technical aspects of the theatre including lighting, sound, scenic design and construction. Course members will constitute the auditorium stage crew. Late afternoon and night work involved. Stage crew will be selected from the stagecraft class by the instructor.
